Historical establishment of Silti district
Silti District is one of the 15 districts under the Silti Zone of the Central Ethiopian Regional State Government. The district was formed in 1994 following the Selti people’s decision to establish their identity. It was divided into three districts in 1993 and is still in its current form on November 16, 2011.
Geographical location
Silti Woreda is one of the woredas in Silti Zone. Its capital, Kebet, is located 147 km south of the country’s capital, Addis Ababa, on the asphalt road leading to Hosanna, and 90 km from the regional capital, Hosanna.
